Textile Collection Services
The British public throw away 1000’s of tonnes of clothing, shoes and household textiles every year. These items can be recycled and re-used in developing nations in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia.
Textile Bank Services
William Campbell Recycling provides a Textile Bank Service across the UK. The Textile Banks provided can be supplied in various sizes and specification, with artwork included according to your organisations requirements. William Campbell Recycling is dedicated to ensuring that our textile collection service maximises suitable returns for our charity partners.
By re-using and recycling our unwanted items we reduce the amount of material going to landfill sites, which in turn complies with the UK Regulations. We work with Colleges, Schools, Sport Centres, FM Companies and other Commercial Enterprises.
Textile Bag Collection Services
Textile house to house bag collections enables charities in the absence of a network of charity shops to process second hand clothes. This is an invaluable resource and an alternative way of raising monies. At William Campbell Recycling we promote and encourage commercial organisations to get involved by arranging a textile bank or bag collection service. This is a great opportunity for commercial organisations to come together in aid of good causes, offering much needed support to our Charity Partners.
Through our carefully selected textile collection service partners, William Campbell Recycling provides our UK Charity Partners a textile bag collection service, collecting from households across the UK. Our service partners are governed by UK Fundraising Regulations concerning licensing and Charity Acts and also by UK Charity Commission Regulations concerning the collection and sale of used clothes. We work with our Charity Partners regarding the management, supervision and auditing of their textile bag collection provision that our service partners provide.
Our service partners have Textile Sorting Facilities across the UK where clothes are sorted and exported across Europe and Western Asia to second hand department stores.
WRAP estimates that between 1.1 and 1.4 million tonnes of textiles are thrown away each year in the UK. Of this amount 430,000 tonnes are good quality clothing items that could be reused. Around 350,000 tonnes of clothing are landfilled in the UK.
